On 8 Feb 1985 Mayanti was born in Delhi. Today she is 36 years old. Her father is an LT. General and mother a teacher. Her father Lt. General Sanjiv Langer had worked for the UN and her mother Preminda Langer was a famous teacher.
She has a degree in B.A.(Hons) from Hindu College, University of Delhi.
She has spent most of her childhood in the U.S as her father was working for the UN. Since her childhood, she has an inclination towards football and played it t the school level, and received training from Super Soccer Academy, Delhi.
Mayanti never wanted to become a sports journalist, she wanted to become a graphic designer. But when she first hosted Football Cafe on Zee Sports, the show became a huge success and after that, she thought of continuing in this field only.

In September 2020, Mayanti is blessed with a baby boy with her cricketer husband Stuart Binny. Mayanti announced the news on social media and thanked the official broadcaster for their support when she needed them the most.
Mayanti couldn’t be a part of IPL 2020 due to her pregnancy.
She has posted a picture of her husband and her newborn boy on social media and wrote,
“So quite a few of you have asked me and many are spreading rumors. For the last 5 years, my family at Star Sports has given me the incredible privilege of fronting their most high-profile events. In fact, they supported me when I needed them the most. When I was pregnant with my son. They have done several adjustments to ensure that I was comfortable hosting till I was 5 months pregnant and would have continued doing so had IPL 2020 gone on as scheduled. Almost 6 weeks ago Stuart and I were blessed by the birth of our baby boy. Life has changed for the better.”
