Rajasthan is the biggest geographical state in India. Due to the large area and a big population, it faces many challenges in delivering government services to the residents living in remote areas of the state. Therefore, an effective electronic mode of service delivery was needed to avoid the problems of physical delivery so that the benefits of the public welfare could be delivered at the door-step to residents in a more effective manner. This is why Jan Aadhar Yojana was drafted and announced in the modified budget of 2019-2020 by the Honourable Chief Minister of Rajasthan.
The main objective of this Yojna was “One Number, One Card, One Identity” for the state residents. The Jan Aadhar Yojana which was introduced fulfills the objective of providing services efficiently and effectively. It also unifies the entire service delivery system of the state with a single-card, single-number, single-identity philosophy by reducing different channels of government to reach the residents to only one!

Features of the Jan Aadhar Card
- The card has a 10 digit number.
- All resident families in Rajasthan, are eligible to apply for the Jan Aadhaar Card as it will replace all other cards like ration card, etc.
- With this card, Women above the age of 18 years of the family will be considered as the head of the family. Men above the age of 21 will be considered the head of the family in case no woman above 18 is there in the family.
- The person with the maximum age in the family will be considered the head of the family if both the other cases aren’t applicable.
- It will provide benefits/services related to government and welfare schemes for the residents and will be valid as identity proof and address proof.
How to download Jan Aadhar Card?
- Visit the Official Website for Rajasthan Jan Aadhar Card or click on this given link- janaadhaar.rajasthan.gov.in.
- After the Homepage opens, click the “Jan Aadhar Enrollment“ link on the page.
- The Application Form page will open.
- Enter the details that are required to be filled and upload the required documents. These include Name, Aadhar card, mobile number, etc.
- Submit the form by clicking the submit button that appears. After the form is submitted, the next screen will appear which will be used for getting acknowledgment receipt.
- On this page, you have to fill a number from the receipt number, registration number, Aadhaar number, etc.
- After filling in all the information, click on the search button and you will see the option to download the receipt.
You can download your Jan Aadhar number and Jan Aadhar card on mobile through the Jan Aadhar mobile app by following the required process in the app after The SSO login.
You can also get Jan Aadhar number by sending an SMS on the mobile number: 7065051222 in any of the formats mentioned below:
- JAN<space>JID<space> <15 Character Jan Aadhaar enrolment id>
- JAN<space>JID<space> <12 digit UID Number>
- And .. JAN<space>JID<space> <10 digit Mobile Number>.
Without the introduction of this Yojna by the Rajasthan government, it would have been impossible to deliver the required welfare and services to the whole population of the state. With this problem still persisting in the state, it would have been unfair for the residents who couldn’t enjoy the services and benefits.
It has also helped in women empowerment. It has helped majorly in the delivery of all kinds of cash as well as non-cash benefits and services and they are riding and reaching to the door-step of the residents through an intertwined network of e-Mitra kiosks. So, in all, it has proved to be a success and it’s been serving its purpose effectively.
